It is an understatement to say that the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the world. The performing arts have experienced a huge blow.
Since March, 2020, the pipe band has responded to the virus with caution. All events that we normally perform at were cancelled, and our ability to meet and rehearse was also impacted.
Initially we continued to meet at a social distance outside in the Mackay courtyard.

Once the weather turned, and we were unable to play outside, the band developed a Covid safety plan, which was approved by the school district, and enabled us to practice safely, chanters and drum pads only, at the Skeena Middle School band room.
This was shortlived, sadly, as Dr Henry, the top Dr in BC, mandated against gatherings outside your immediate family bubble. Practices were then moved to Zoom practices every Monday Night. These are well attended, as everyone wants to visit their pipe band family in any capacity that they can.
